Amanda and Christine met during their TCU days in the band. They were both members of the band sorority and met their husbands through the band fraternity. Yes, they were band geeks! Having both survived through TCU with their Bachelor’s degrees, they went their separate ways.
Amanda went on to marry the love of her life and become an art teacher in the Lewisville ISD for a few years. She then started her own craft business and now has a thriving wedding decorations business. But, her proudest accomplishment is her daughter Ivy, born in December of 2008.
Christine went on to graduate school at UNT where she found she liked the retail industry better than school. She stopped just short of a Master’s in Gerontology to manage stores for Pier 1 Imports. She also married the man in her life. She worked for Pier 1 until she gave birth to her proudest accomplishment, her son Christopher.
Amanda and Christine met up again when they found out they were pregnant at the same time. Although Christopher was due 2 months later than Ivy, he made a surprise appearance a week before Ivy did. Since December, Amanda and Christine have been enjoying the challenges of being first-time SAHMs. During this time they have encountered many things that people have asked them about such as; cloth diapers, homemade baby food, navigating the NICU and other fun things. Many of their friends have asked them for advice, directions, recipes and such so they have decided to jot it all down here.
Stick with us as we navigate the world of infants to toddlers while trying to save money, keep our sense of humor, and stay sane!

I found you through the Friday Follow! I am a NICU survivor, as I like to call it. Actually both of my daughter’s spent some time there. My oldest was there for a day and a half. At the time we were so scared that she was there. Now we laugh about that. Our youngest was born three months early and spent three months in her NICU home. She’s a feisty one, and is thriving.
Great blog!

I just stumbled on this and couldn’t believe it when I read Christine’s story and then figured out who you are! I have many fond memories of both of you and the band and TBS. What a great blog, you guys–and congratulations on your biggest accomplishments.
